Advantages and disadvantages
What stood out most was the hotel’s unique private pools with stunning views of Spinalonga Island — perfect for those seeking peace and quiet. It was also a lovely touch that the restaurant offers dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, allowing guests to enjoy the authentic flavors of Crete. A highlight is the opportunity to take part in traditional activities — like honey harvesting or boat rides on classic Cretan wooden vessels — giving a deeper cultural experience beyond just the food. The service was also impressive, with the staff paying close attention to every detail, which really enhanced the overall comfort.
A fun and useful feature is the funicular lift, which makes getting around the slightly tiered property easy and effortless.
The lack of proximity to major tourist spots or towns was a drawback, as transportation was needed to explore other areas. Prices for some services, such as spa treatments and organized activities, were quite high, so it's important to budget for extra expenses. The beach is rocky.
I recommend Phāea Blue
