An extremely popular hotel for families

I’ll say upfront that I personally wouldn’t pick this hotel for my own vacation—I find it somewhat overrated. However, many travelers love it, return multiple times, and recommend it to others. It definitely deserves attention and reviews.

Beach nuance:
Despite what some tour operator websites say about a “gradual entry into the sea,” that’s not the case. There’s a shallow strip about two meters wide, knee-deep, and then you hit coral and deeper water. It’s impossible to swim off the shore. The only options are the two pontoons—but there the water is deep and the current can be strong. So if you’re older than five, can’t swim, or fear deep water, you essentially won’t be able to enjoy the sea here.

Second point that, in my opinion, makes this “family” hotel less appealing than the “Albatros” properties is the lack of a real water park. If you set your filters to “hotel with a water park,” Sultan Gardens might pop up because it technically has one waterslide. But it’s so underwhelming it’s almost embarrassing.

That said, if a big water park and a full shore entry aren’t a priority for you, this hotel does have a lot of positives:

• Grounds are super green, well-maintained, and clean, with varied relaxation zones. I was impressed by how they updated the area outside the lobby—new straw umbrellas, nice tables and chairs, plus fountains. The property is quite hilly, with many steps, but there’s a shuttle bus running between the reception and beach for those who prefer not to walk.

• Three pools are heated in winter.

• Rooms: They have great two-room Family and Junior Suites. These are usually well-priced for families of 2+2 or 2+3, and the sleeping arrangements are comfortable. The difference is that Junior Suites have a living area plus a bedroom, while Family Suites feature two separate bedrooms.

• Dining is tasty and varied, including options for kids (diet items, nuggets, fries, etc.).

• Animation is appropriately done. The animation team is genuinely engaged and performs professionally—entertaining both adults and children. By the way, the kids’ club is fun; kids really like it. It runs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. without a midday break.

• The guest relations team is friendly, including Ukrainian staff, which helps communication if you speak that language. They also have a loyalty program for returning guests—like a free direct transfer from the airport.

Overall, I do recommend this hotel; it’s comfortable and of good quality.
